Root 3 days trying to root

ofcourse, I get rooted, And android updated, without warning, tried to re root using same process, and it didn't work, maybe I missed a step, idk. What do i do now?

I don't know if there's another root method that will work on the updated Android version for this device.
Many users with other devices that run into this problem downgrade to the previous update,re-root & stay on that Android version until a new root exploit is available or,a developer creates a rooted ROM that will put you on the latest Android version with root.

You'll have to do some Googling/look over at XDA DEVELOPERS for such,not a lot of activity here for this device....
 
Guessing it's not as easy as just doing a factory reset. Or is it? I'm going to try that first, don't have much in terms of data to save, so not worried there.

Only if it were that easy....... :(
If you can find a .kdz file of the original image for this device,there may be hope.
Flashing the original .kdz file/image will restore to out-of-box condition (if that file is available).
Usually flashing a file like this,while stock/unrooted,will require an LG Flash tool (installed on your desktop PC)
Check the thread(s) @ XDA that I posted in this thread previously.

I believe those are just files related to the flash tool itself,nothing for the device.

From recent posts in the XDA thread on this device,seems LG hasn't released the .kdz file for this device,at least the one that will work on restoring back to stock.
You may be stuck on unrooted,but,check up on it yourself periodically:

Yep! Easy-peasy--it's pretty much a "Nexus"-type device (comes with an unlockable bootloader right out of the box).

My son's got my old Xoom so I haven't stayed up with all the going's on with it, but check out this area here at AF:

Be careful to NOT apply an ota update after rooting this device and installing custom recovery. You may end up stuck in a recovery bootloop. A user in this thread for the lg tribute (got restoration help for his device even though it was not an lg tribute) almost never recovered his device. http://androidforums.com/threads/twrp-bootloop-fix-after-update-ota.922585/

the owner is nicospanas. he may be able to help you get twrp on the device to do a good backup. and be sure to avoid ota updates even if it means deleteing gapps completely after making a backup.
 
Yeah, trying to install an OTA on a rooted device can indeed be problematic. Here's some info I published about it a few weeks back:


Note: I'm posting that for background info only.

Not sure how/why you get a bootloop when a custom recovery is installed, but I'm guessing it has to do with the "fota" partition that not all devices have.

Anyway, your best bet / safety net when undertaking any rooting related activity is to have a good Nandroid backup in your back pocket to restore if/when a problem occurs.
