Root 3 issues with CM6 help please

I flashed my ascend to CM6,everything went ok but on the first boot and after the start up my phone looked just like it did before the flash....my wallpaper was the same and most of my app were still there,it did flash it to 2.2.1 but i thought it would have made the phone like new,you know have you run the set up and all,but it didnt is that normal?

the second issue was my WIFI,it wouldn't stay on,as soon as you click to enable it.. it would just shut off.

and my third, after seeing the issues i was having i just flashed back to the backup i created,all was good back to my stock everything working until i tried to use Link2sd...when i start L2sdit gives me the option to choose the file system of the partitioned part of the sd card,but after i select it i get an "Mount script error" says mount script cannot be created. Mount: invalid argument.

sounds like you didnt do a wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache. n wipe davlic cache b4 you flashed the new rom n gapps.

Start over n do those 3 first ;) If not you will prolly continue to have issues here n there n even a crash.
 
ok.. update... just reflashed and went through this again.. and ALL WORKED!.. yea i must have missed a step somewhere along the line... but all is good... only thing i need to figure out is how to get all my contacts back.

If you had em sync with your google account just add it n sync, if not and you didnt back em to the sdcard, have fun gathering em all lol.

Settings>Cyanogenmod settings>performance>cpu settings.

i really liked my HTC keyboard on my stock 2.1.. but CM6 wont run the HTC keyboard,and others close to HTC style that works with CM6?
 
dont want to be a pest,but i have another issue.. when i tap the power button on stock 2.1 it would go right to lock screen... but on CM6 when i tap power it just shuts the screen down.. but no lock screen.. is this normal in CM6?

The Cpu settings are in CM7 but not CM6.

You'll need a app like SetCPU.

CM6 is set to 710. CM7 starts at 600 but you have the option to OC up to 710.

Did you set up a lock pattern? And I believe there is a timer setting also between screen off and lock pattern needed.

You may have the delay for the lock screen set too long. Does the lock screen never show up no matter how long you have the screen off? Also are you talking about the slide lock or the pattern lock?

the pattern lock,trying to find option to set lock delay.... lol im lost in here..

Cm6 is automatically overclocked at 710. That's why some people have install problems. Their phones don't take to the overclocking. On cm7, Your phone starts out at 600, You can set it higher though. ^.~
