3 VZW Stores, all same answer...

I called 3 VZW stores that open at 9AM near me. All are giving the same canned answer: go to the website to register for updates and "within the next few weeks". It is interesting that they are all saying the EXACT same thing. I guess they have to read a queue card or risk getting in trouble.

Dunno, but I expect that companies of the caliber such as Verizon and Google would have better housekeeping practices than to let planned website updates for a launch exist in half-assed form. Google's "Buy Now" registration buttons on two of the four tabs at Galaxy Nexus and Verizon's shop.verizonwireless.com/?id=Samsung%20Nexus page redirect from www.verizonwireless.com/galaxynexus, both of which have shown up in the last 12 hours, are glaring oversights. I understand that the updates may have been scheduled to auto-update at some point for the planned 9th launch, but these are the types of things one could and should reasonably expect these companies to be on top of.

I'm the first to cringe when I see less-than-professional correspondence (grammar concerns or otherwise) from customer service associates, but I look past most of that as I know they farm a lot of that out to other countries depending on the time of day. But this? This leaves me scratching my head quite a bit longer...

i called my local verizon store and asked about the nexus. He said "what do you want to know?". I said i want to know when you can sell me one. He said on the 15th. I asked if this was official. he said "yes, it is official, we were supposed to sell it today, but now it is launching on the 15th." Again, i said is this official and he once again said yes it is official. Fingers crossed!!

The 15th sort of make sense because of the LTE anniversary; but if that is the case then I wish they would fire the marketing clown who decided to wait till then.

I just called one and they told me the 15th. Seems like quite a few people are being told this all over the forums. That's the date I'm betting.

I have been told the same thing by the 3 stores I called earlier. They are all now saying the 15th as well.

I heard they will be moving the launch date forward to April 1st, 2012. It will give them time to release a new RAZR.

You're correct- my money will be in the bank on the 15th, because there will be some new type of backpedaling on the release date.
