Help 32gb downgraded to 16gb

Vahan

Newbie
I have a 32GB Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100
i flashed it using Odin to XXKL1 a few weeks back...

A few days ago I was transfering some files to my computer when I realized that the storage capacity is 11.5gb...
I tried
1. formatting from the Settings/Storage/format USB Storage
2. Home+Power+Volume Up Delete User Data
3. I flashed back JPKH1 but no change

I can't find a solution and I'm desperate...
Is there a way I can get back to the original state?

Sounds like you re-partitioned it with a PIT file from a 16GB i9100. You know those Odin tutorials where it said "DO NOT CHECK THESE BOXES!!!"? Well, they weren't kidding.

I'm not going to advise you on how to fix this as I don't know where to begin and don't want to make things worse for you. What I would advise is going over to XDA and ask for help on finding a PIT file for the 32GB version and directions on properly flashing that.

Surely I did not tick the re-partition checkbox and did not even put in the PIT file...
but oddly enough no-one mentioned about the 32GB difference (guess 32gb people aren't very popular :p) so i assume it automatically re-partitions according to 16gb...
I am looking for help @ XDA but wanted to check here as well if anyone has something to share :)

The 32GB version isn't as seemingly popular because it was canceled after a short time. The extra 16GB wasn't worth the price premium in the eyes of many simply because it has expandable storage.

Good luck fixing your issue!

Aye, and keep it, I thought the 32GB version was cancelled altogether before hitting the shelf, collectors item!

Problem with 32GB is that its still only 2GB (internal phone memory) for apps. It might have been better with 4GB for that.

Cheers

Yup totally agree Russell :\ I have another post here @androidforums regarding the internal phone memory capacity, but still I got 16GB+ for 50$+ that's a great deal :)

Thank you Gearu :)

Medion I was able to fix it :) thanks to the fellows @XDA, there's a PIT file GT-I9100_EXT4_32G.pit that needs to be included in ODIN while flashing... and the re-partition should be ticked...
After flashing if it still shows USB STORAGE 11.5GB you have to format it and you get 26.64GB :D
