Root .340 Rooting Issue

Sorry if this issue has been posted elsewhere, I couldn't find it though. I SBF'd from Gingerbread .591 back to Stock .340 and for the life of me couldn't get Z4 Root to root my phone. I did a factory reset before and after the SBF'ing which didn't do a thing. After what seemed like a hundred different scenarios that I tried, I finally gave Gingerbreak a go and what do you know? It worked. Is it because of the 30.04 bootloader?

no, once you install z4root, you need to reboot, then perm root.

you may have installed z4root and then tried to perm root, when you need to reboot first

I know it sounds weird...but I did try the reboot right after installing Z4Root. Seriously, I tried every scenario possible (maybe a slight exaggeration, LOL). It really wouldn't work!

It did! I even downloaded Z4Root again to make sure it didn't get corrupted or something. I've rooted my phone numerous times using Z4Root but for some strange reason it just wouldn't do it this time. Why do you think Gingerbreak worked on .340?

so gingerbreak worked on .340? well if it worked i would use it instead, but i really cannot say why, but im glad it does work lol
