I cant find it either and thats camera's from 2 roms I have tried (redux & miui), it doesnt come up with a delay snap either when you press the menu button on those rom's.

Pity, would love to have this back, I used the 2 second delay for every pic as it gave you a much better of chance of stabilising the camera when you pressed to take the photo.

Try MIUI XJ since this is the ROM I am using and the option is definitely there in the camera App when I press Menu :)

I have one of the Miui camera's on my phone instead of the redux one, you got a link to the download for that one anywhere ?

If so, is the tap screen auto-focus there also ?
 
It's a function of the camera app rather than the OS (in fact Miui XJ is also GingerBread).

I tried extracting the camera from Miui XJ, but didn't succeed in installing it on my current system (even after uninstalling my current camera). Next time I flash a ROM I'll try inserting it into the zip first, but right now I can't confirm how well that camera works in another ROM.
 
That's true - I'm kinda assuming that it'll be similar to the older Miui camera I'm using in that respect, but there's no certainty.
 
I only suggest this because Ive been having a nightmare compiling whilst making sure all the dependencies are in place for cameras etc.
