3D Apps

Prinny

Resident Linux Nutcase
Alright, folks. It's Prinny time!

Alright, so I've had this shiny Evo V 4G for a few days, now. (Since Monday, to be exact.)

What are your favorite 3D Apps that fully utilize the phones capabilities for 3D displays? I have found a 3D gallery that allows me to browse 3D photos taken by users, called Phereo.

So, how about it? What other 3D apps do you folks use? I want more 3D, dang nabbit! ;)

Oh, and I searched 3D apps, and nothing popped up on the forums...I can't believe that o.o Maybe I just broke search...

Not much 3d apps ...but u can watch 3d movies... Search for adownloader on the play storeand when you in the app search for "3d " bunch of movies and videos on mp4 format will show up n u can download anything you want as long as u have enough SD space...

No 3D Games? Or other neat 3D Apps? That's kind of depressing, I figured since there was an Optimus 3D, and that this phone has been around a while...there would be more.

There are 3D games but I think you need to purchase them from the gameloft website to get the 3D working (haven't tried any personally yet, but others have confirmed this). Theres an app that allows you to have 3D wallpaper as well ( you can read more about it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1894753) I haven't tried any movies yet, but they are doable and youtube has YT3D movies you can watch (the LG 3D demo vid is worth checking out).

One last thing, a nice 3D bootanimation http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1812621

Thanks to all the devs that made this phone better then HTC intended.

That's because it's nothing more than a gimmick. I mean, 3D movies have been around for awhile and you see how many are actually made/shown/sold. With or without glasses, it's just nothing people are turned on by.

I've never been one for 3D tv's but I will say this: "Real 3D" movies in the theatre are awesome and 3D on a phone without glasses is a nice feature, especially for virgin mobile.

At least 25 % of movies released in the last couple of years have been 3d, seems to be a very profitable gimmick. Every major theater with more than 5 screens in my area have been converted to Real 3D. And they're packed on the weekends.

Being packed on weekends in a specific city does not necessarily convert to the industry making money. I just don't see the advertising for 3D movies, nor do I hear any raves about them in the media.
And if you must use an example, then this phone is the prime one. It may have sold, but not well until it came over to prepaid. Even so, it's other attributes as dual core processor and large screen are the reason most people tended to buy it, not the 3D ability. That's probably the reason you never heard HTC coming out with second 3D Evo, or any other maker coming out with a 3D phone, tablet or anything else. There's just no market for it.
It's nice, and I love being able to flaunt it, but in the end its just not something most people want.
