3D games?

Are the games listed by gameloft that have 3D in them actually 3D like real 3D or are they just talking about the graphics being 3D?

Like is NOVA 3D actually in 3D the way the Spiderman demo is?
Is Assassins Creed Altairs Chronicles 3D the same?

Yes. I believe Gameloft will make most, if not all of their games with the 3D effect, which you can turnoff via a little slider located on the left side of the screen during gameplay.

The downside I see to this is the lower res graphics (WVGA vs. qHD). Hopefully some of the newer titles (Shadow Guardian, Eternal Legacy) and so forth look better, even the new games they are releasing using the Unreal Engine.

An important question is, if you buy some Gameloft games now and they eventually upgrade them to 3D, do you have to buy them again or is it just an update?

A great way to sucker people into buying more, but no thanks peggles, ab, and cut the rope, and etc. Are just fine for me.

All of the games available form Gameloft for the E3D are in the app "3D Games" which takes you to their store. Right now there are only 3, Asphalt 6, Assassin's Creed and Let's Golf 2. All of them have the actual 3D effect, but of those two only Assassin's Creed is working because of the OTA update. Spiderman works too, and has better effects than Assassin's Creed, IMO.

Daveloft mentioned that Asphalt 6 may be kind of wierd because of the viewing angles and using the accelerometer. Luckily you can turn the 3D off though.

IMO, the 3D from the movies and the games doesn't seem to be affected too much by the angles. Pictures on the other hand are, and can mess with your eyes when you scroll through the gallery of 3D images.

I'm still wondering what's up with most of the other games from gameloft in the market missing entirely. As of now, there are no first person shooters available in the market if you have an Evo 3D. That sucks, big time. I had actual fun with one on my Evo (modern combat 2). It just baffles me why they're not in the market. Its not like this phone can't run them.

Have no idea about how it works or if its good, but todays free amazon app of the day is some 3d fishing game. I got it, havent installed it though.

It's because they haven't been optimized yet. Only two games currently work, as mentioned above: Assassin's Creed and Spiderman. The EVO has a different chip so they have to change the way things are processed using both the CPU and GPU.

Gameloft hasn't used the Market until recently because of the high level of piracy going as well as not being able to limit specifially which devices can actual handle the games. With recent updates to the Market it has become a better location to publish apps.

Makes sense. Hadn't really given that idea much of a seconds though. When I had Verizon for the wholesome week that I did while giving them a testdrive, the X 2 I had, had everything available in the market. Oh well, the fun of being an early adopted begins. Lol.
