3g/4g New Sim Cards

anyone that recently got a new INSPIRE 4G . . .

did you also get a new SIM CARD?

It appears there is a new Sim Card for the new 4G phones such as the Inspire and Atrix.

The new card has a SKU # of 73057.. these do look different from the original "3G" ones.

I read somewhere to get the full "functionality" of the phone and the 4G network, you need to use this card.

Question is . . . What does a simple sim card do to improve performance of the phone on the network?

Here is a screen shot I found on a search.

Just read over at the AT&T forums. Appears the new card does not give any advantage to the INSPIRE or ATRIX, being as they run off HSPA+.

the new card is for future phones that support the LTE network (which in turn will require another device).

So, appears, they are just making the new cards for ALL phones, as the card supports 3g or 4g.

Alot of customers just think their phone gets 4G out of the box just because it has a "new sim" and because it shows H+ in the network indicator.

Bummer. I hate all this 4G hype.

SO, TECHNICALLY, is the INSPIRE a 4G phone?

I just checked the box, my phone from Costco came with the 2nd one. Since I had a iPhone 4 they had to give me a new sim. SKU 73057 is the one that came in the box from Costco and in my phone right now.
