Help 3g and wifi off: still getting emails!

Hi all,

I've been having an odd problem with my phone lately.

I routinely turn off both 3g and wifi when I am a) asleep and b) in work. I don't need emails/facebook/etc at either of these times. But, for the last few days even when they are both OFF, I have been receiving email notifications via outlook and the stock email app.

My previous android phone never received ANYTHING when all data was turned off. I use Juice Defender on this phone, but I assumed that if I had physically turned off all the data, that JD wouldn't be able to override that.

Am I being stupid? Is there something else I need to be doing? It's not a big issue, but it's really bugging me! I'm also thinking of switching my phone plan down to one that has less data, and I don't want the phone to continue to do this and potentially cost me money.

Cheers,
Kelly

You state that you have turned off Wifi and 3g, so I imagine that you still have an active GPRS 2G connection, and this is why you're still getting emails etc. You need to turn off all mobile data.
