Please, please, please Before you flash anything, follow the guide below to backup your 3G/IMEI and the guide just below these words to makes sure you have done everything you need before you flash a ROM.

http://androidforums.com/fusion-2-a...any-rom-fusion-2-links-root-cwm-included.html

This guide is to backup your 3G, because when you flash the ICS baseband(which is required for ICS or Jellybean ROMs), it gets broken.

This is VERY important.

-This probably works for other phones, but this guide is specifically for the Fusion 2.

Let’s do it,

1. Download toolbox5irom.apk from HERE.

2. Place the toolbox5irom.apk on the root of your SD Card.
-Make sure “unknown sources” is checked in the phones settings/security.

3. Use any file manager, navigate to toolbox5irom.apk and install it.

4. Select IMEI Backup.

5. Once it is finished, you can close the application.
-There will be a tiny message that pops up to tell you it's done.

6. Next, connect your phone to the PC, and turn on USB Storage again.

7. You will find a folder on your SD Card called “5irom.”
-Inside this folder should be "5.img, 10.img and 11.img" make sure.

8. Make a copy of this whole folder, and place it on your PC.
-This is your 3G and IMEI information; keep it safe, along with the toolbox5irom.apk.

This will allow you to restore YOUR IMEI, and 3G after installing ICS, or Jellybean ROMs.
-Don’t lose it.

The reason its someone elses IMEI, is because the backup was made on someone elses phone.

They were kind enough to help people who broke their 3G, before a method of backing it up was created.

I'm sure you can break your IMEI beyond repair somehow, but no one has yet.

We have found a way to restore your original IMEI, but doing so re-breaks your 3G.

You can only have one or the other, at the moment.

There are some risky methods, I can try, test, and make easy if they work; but I am not going to until my donation pool on fusion2.org is enough for me to purchase a second phone in-case of brick.

:D

Yeah i just want to make sure i don't delete it anything i shouldn't have.
For sure i can't live without my phone so having a spare before doing anything risky is definitely a good idea. I forget all the work you and cameron do for us Fusioners on here. Thanks again ZeRose. :congrats: ;)

No problem, don't forget shagerty, he bricked a phone for the Fusion 2 community.

As long as you make a backup, you should be fine.

i agree, thanks for shagerty for all the work he's done too, and his sacrifice of a fusion. you guys all get a salute from me. thanks again Zerose ;)

Hi,

I am newbie. I've flashed CMMOD 10.1 on my Fusion 2 Succesfully without backing up 3G and now I am left with phone with no Call functionality My IMEI is lost. Can any one help me restoring my IMEI so I can get my phone back in working condition again.

Baseband: 2030.

Thank you All!

I wish the mods would sticky my other guide that gives all the steps in order, so people will stop breaking their 3g unnecessarily.

To restore the files later:

1. Place the whole "5irom" folder back on your SD Card.

2. Install the toolbox5irom.apk.

3. Open the app and select Restore IMEI.

Followed all the steps in the guide and flashed new ROM.

I have the IMEI files I backed up saved on my computer and in the root of the SD card.

I use the toolbox APP to restore IMEI. It says it is successful and to reboot using *#06#. I am not sure how to "reboot using #*#06#". That may be the problem.

However, when I do #*06# it says the letters IMEI only, no number follows it. Any and all help appreciated.

I backed up phone as per the guides, can I go back and restore that and get everything back?

Just reboot the phone normally.

Then press that to check that it worked.

No luck, it still does not give me an IMEI number. Just did the 3g fix, copied 10.img and 11.img to imei backup folder, left 5.img there.

Still no IEMI number whne I press *#06#

Does it matter if the SIM is in our out during any of this process?

Can I still recover from the initial backups I made and then try again?

You said you did the 3g fix, the one in the guide, or the one posted in response to yagami2?

Did you backup your 3g (with this guide and not that other post) before you flashed the ICS baseband?

It does not matter if your SIM is in or out, and restoring a backup will not fix it.

I am asking the questions to see where you stand, and how we can fix it.

I used the backup in your post found at:

http://androidforums.com/fusion-2-a...-2-links-root-cwm-included.html#post5951836in this guide and copied to my PC.

It was the last thing I did before I flashed the Mod. I used this MOd found in your post: cm-10.1-20130602-NIGHTLY-u8665.zip

One thing that may be a problem. I accidentally did the GAPPS flash BEFORE I did the Cyanogen mod. However, after I did the Cyanogen mod, I flashed the GAPPS again.

In terms of the the 3g fix, I used your link/post. Here is what I did. I simply replaced 10.img and 11.img in on the IMEI backup folder with the same files from the 3g fix file. Then, I used toolbox to restore IMEI again.

That did not work, so I put the original 10.img and 11.img files from my PC back in the same place on my SD card.

Ok, this is awesome then.

If you backed up with the link you posted, you are simply following the wrong guide to fix it.

You said you have the files backed up on your pc. If you did indeed follow that guide(to the T) you would have backed up your 3G/IMEI with this guide

http://androidforums.com/fusion-2-a...-read-before-flashing-ics-jellybean-roms.html

So you should have the entire 5irom folder on your pc backed up,

(8. Make a copy of this whole folder, and place it on your PC.
-This is your 3G and IMEI information; keep it safe, along with the toolbox5irom.apk.
)

If this is true, delete the 5irom folder on your SD card, and replace it with the ENTIRE folder that you have backed up on your pc . Inside that folder, you should see a backup folder, and inside that 3 .img files (5, 10, 11) These are your backups and you do not need to replace them with anything (that was for individuals who broke their 3G before there was a fix)

After you do this, reboot your phone, then select IMEI Restore via the 5irom app.

This should restore your IMEI.

(The ROM and Gapps have nothing to do with this process)

I keep refreshing my page, so let me know how it goes.

:D

Don't use the 3G fix file, just the 5irom app.

That file is for people who broke their 3G before there was a real patch.

Yes, followed your instructions. Have that complete folder on my PC. Actually, I have already done exactly as you said above, deleted 5irom and recopied from PC and did restore from tool box.

However, I will try again just to be 100% sure and let you know in about 2 minutes

Did it again, same result, when I reboot and do *#06# I get IMEI but no number following the letters. The 5irom folder I am using has a time stamp on it of 10:36 AM, so I am sure it is the one I got when I backed up the 3g.

Again, I backed up the 3g LAST thing before I flashed the ROM as that was the order in which it was listed.

I am beginning to fear that I have a BRICK.
