Help 3g data speeds

I am using my android phone to connect to the internet vi the mobile hotspot addon is there a way to speed up the 3 g connection?
 
Put the phone where gets the best signal of course. That's about it. Your could check to see if you are going through a proxy. ##3282#, check in Multimedia for HTTP proxy. If there is one in there you should change it to 0.0.0.0 and the port to 0. You will need your MSL.
