Help 3G Drops When Screen Timeouts With HotSpot On

I was using the HotSpot through Quick Settings this morning and noticed the following...when my screen would timeout to save power, the 3G connection dropped even though the HotSpot was still active, and the only way I could maintain it was to set the screen to never timeout, which is bad for battery life.

I'm using Green Power Free, but don't at first blush see anything there that would be influencing this behavior.

Your Green Power is likely the cause.

Well those battery saving apps are configured to turn off the 3G when the phone is not active, so when the screen goes to sleep the app does what it is supposed to do. Unless there is a way to configure the app so that it doesn't do this when you are using hotspot the only alternative would be to disable the app when you are using hotspot.
