Help 3G gone

ok i just noticed at the top of my phone where it shows 3G and the amount of bars and hte battery life. i dont have the 3g in there now it has a "E" there why is this and how do i get the 3G back?

Mine is too, in NY. Edge is barely working too...

i just called att, they told me in my area(billing address) i have 3 towers down. that sucks. and that the E means its in the EDGE network. which to me is like dial up..lmao. good to know this. thought i done something to the phone.

he did tell me when i/you lose the 3G signal the best way to reconnect to it. is to switch to airplane mode. then switch back to normal and you should get the 3G back.

I had this problem I got the e and a g instead of 3g. I went to at att store they put in a new sim and it works fine now.

I still can't tell if y'all are being serious or not. You must never drive anywhere further than outside of a big city, because my captivate is on the EDGE network about half the time whenever I'm not in a metro area.

well we had a big storm here and it knocked out 3 towers. 2 in my immediate location. it is the first time i ever seen it off 3g. and i live about 50 miles from a "BIG CITY"

Ah, gotcha. I'm more jealous of you than anything, I wish I had 3g all the time. Maybe I should move to Cincy. But then again my local AA baseball club was in the Reds farm system for a long time til a few years ago so I'm kinda close in that respect...
