A few weeks ago I stared noticing strange signal issues with my phone. The entire city I live in has excellent 3G coverage, so since the day I got the phone I have been using 3g internet speeds without problem.
However, a few weeks ago I noticed that my phone is on EDGE rather than 3G., I forced 3g network usisg WCDMA option only and I noted that I get 3g signal with only 2 bars. Those two bards turn into "no network available" as soon as I walk in a building.
If I set the network mode to auto, 95% of the time my phone is on EDGE, and when I walk into a building it drops down to GPRS!!
I tested another sim in the same phone and I get the same issue. My SIM card into my old Blackberry gets 3g without problems.
I restored to the stock rom, upgraded to ICS stock - still the same issue.
Called the provider, they said no network issues at all so its most likely the phone.
Before I turn the phone in, as it is still under warranty, can anyone think of any other reason, other than hardware problem, why this might be happening?
