Help 3G Mobile Hotspot Help

Just got the Incredible, my first android phone and im hooked. But i have the 3g mobile hotspot app and im not sure about using it or not. If i turn it on and i didnt pay for the hotspot plan will i be charged like the $60 extra? probably a noob question but i dont wanna be charged

You can turn it on, but it will only go to a VZW pay for service splash screen. There is no way to "accidentally" connect and get charged.

There are a couple of work arounds that allow you to use the service for free. One require root and another does not. Search for "how to tether natively" and it will come up.
