Help 3G not working

Yesterday i got a new sim card. Since then the 3G symbol is not showing up next to the signal bars. Wifi works ok but when i disable wifi, 3G is not coming up

I used apndroid. but it doesn't help either. In that it says 3G/Edge/Gprs is active but still can't get the symbol and even the websites are not opening. i tried uninstalling apndroid app and restart the phone. still no luck with or without this app.

if i try to open a website it says not connected to internet.

what wrong could i have done? please advice.

I called them. They told to wait 2-3 hours after they made me restart my phone 2-3 times. Didn't work.

Manually entered APN info and voila it started working. Had uninstalled APNDroid, probably it wiped APN too. Reinstalled APNDroid and entered apn info and it worked.
