3g on metro (for real)

I was using the prl of 3020 for a while now and no 3G in West Palm Beach. Today after installing the prl of 3022 I can see 3G in West Palm.

1. you need to put the 3022.prl on the root of your sdcard
2. open up your dialer and dial ##775# (be patient, might take a minute or so)
3. it will ask you to enter your MSL number (Master Subsidy Lock), enter it
4. from the menu it brings up you will be able to update your prl with the file you placed on your sdcard. it will auto recognize it in the dropdown list if it's there.
5. Your phone should auto reboot itself after installing the prl and you should then be good to go.

My password or MSL number happened to be "000000"
It may be different for your phone, but once it rebooted I was seeing 3G service. It was nice to see but it is spotty in West Palm and I don't think the data part was working right since my mail stops syncing when on 3G. But great update none the less...
 
So far 3G download test with 1 to no bars is (all data is working now):
330kbps down/223kbps up

1x with all bars is: 131kbps down/347kbps up
 
After finding my MSL I think Im still doing something wrong cause it dont do anything for me Ive also called the *775 from a previous post and still nothing PRL still saying 3019. I think Ill give up unless someone can help me on this?
 
Did you try from my other post. Make sure you download the new prl to your sd card so you can point to it. It should work. If a noob like me can do it, anyone can.

I think thats what Im missing is the 3022.prl, so now I know but is there a link or I jst type in 3022.prl into the folder thats says root or what cause I dont see this. Like I said Im new to all this so once I see I can go from there.
 
I was wondering when putting the prl file in sd card is it a pacfic file or can i just put it in my external sd, and also does it have to be debugging when doing all this
 
Make sure you unzip the file first. In regards to the debugging, mine is on or checked, but I'm not sure if that makes a difference.
 
K I decide to give up on this Im just not getting this any more Ill just be happy the way it is, besides Ive talked to metro they told me that the only phones that have 3g will be the ones thats not 4g so it can be spotty from time to time, but Ill wait until the Lg Esteem comes out. Thanks to all that tried to help me.

I have an ascend that i just did the 3022 update for and i don't have 3g. But i live in mt Dora, FL and there aren't a lot of people here so they probably won't put a tower out here...
 
I can confirm 3g in clearwater area!
Using prl3023 from HoFo post.
Did a *228 and it reverted me back to prl3019.
With 3g I cannot run the speed test app, but mobilespeedtest.net tops me out at 250kbps.

I can Confirm most of Lakeland gets it. manual updated to prl3023 but fyi on that Basix 1.0 severally limits radio function for 4g/3g but stock metro rom i have great range for both 4g and 3g.
 
the 3G comes on sometimes then it turns to 1x/cdma but when I manually turn off the 4G.. 3G stays on... like during the day hours.. and its kinda fast

i live in the San Francisco Bay Area
i have a samsung indulge R910 for metropcs..custom rom: Exodus 6.0 updated PRL 3052.prl
 
Here it is... I am outside of Detroit.
Here were my speed test results at I94 and Ecorse on 10/26
I did my Wifi (3M/512) as a baseline - 2421 455 59ms
4G 3394 398 116ms
3G 98 43 264ms
1X 95 75 212ms

I repeated them right after
4G 2734 774 109ms
3G 1 21 574ms <--yes 1 kbps, probably a fluke
1X 109 17 1095ms

So my phone said 3G, but was no different speed than 1X. Anyone else getting the same?
