3G on Samsung Admire Here is the 3022.prl

honestly why dont you guys just use wifi?

For example, in Ny, if you have internet service you can use the WIFI thats around. And its a pretty huge wifi area. I get internet speeds. I still dont know how cablevision is able to cover such a large area with the wifi hotspot, but verizon does not offer that.

I use metro easy wifi to log me in automatically.

I am on pageplus, and even though I dont have a data plan, I still use wifi in about 90% of the places where I am.

Thank you very much, I did not get 3G simple because there is not 3g on my area and I know it, but still my ping went down from 1870 to 789 and speeds went from 19Kbps Down to 79Kbps and Up from 22Kbps to 171Kbps... so it did something good actually I can load a web page now without the need to get a cofee while waiting ;)

Thanks again great help as usual :)
Got to love Android workaround for everything.

Sent from my Icrap 4S using 3G and only 1 core while Ipoop on Apple with the 2nd core :p

Manually flash the newest prl

1. Installed QPST.

2. From the start menu I found the QPST folder and started QPST Configuration

3. Had my Admire connected and opened Device Manager and expanded the Ports icon. I took note of the COM number listed beside the DBAdapter Reserved Interface, which in my case was (COM15)

4. In QPST Configuration I clicked Add New Port at the bottom right and selected the COM15 and enabled it.

5. After that I went back to the start menu,QPST and opened Service Programming. A box popped up asking for a phone and since I only had the one I just clicked OK and a new box with alot of tabs opened.

6. If you go to the Roam tab at the bottom there is a Preferred Roaming area with an area asking for a file. Browse for the PRL and when finished click the Write to Phone button at the bottom of the window. It will ask for your SPC. After that it writes to the phone and the phone reboots on its own. You should let it reboot fully and not unplug it from the computer or mess with QPST while it's doing so.

When the phone is done booting you can close the program and unhook the phone. It took about 10 minutes for data to start working but 3G works fine on it when I'm in a 3G area. My Ascend is using the bloatware free stock 2.2 ROM found on here and I've had no problems for the week with it. Hopefully this can be helpful for someone and sorry if it's not made out too well, pretty bad at explaining things :P

I was fine until #3 Where exactly can I find device manager for the com/port info? Am I look through the phone or the files on the computer?l

So happy that we just need to dial *228. My only complaint is statan island has crummy 3g service. I do not get it in my house but I just walk one block down and it appears. Any one know around when metro will be done with the towers?

On a windows computer, click Start, Control Panel, search for device manager or navigate to device manager.

I am using PRL 3026 and ran a speed test using FCC Test (in Atlanta using Atlanta, GA server) and got these averaged results:
Down speed: 54 kbps avg.
Up speed: 75 kbps avg.
Latency: 140 ms avg.

I did the FCC test 4 times and averaged the results to get the info above.

Signal strength varies from -76 dBm to -65 dBm.

Merged all the 3G/PRL threads into one to make it easier for someone to find it all in one post instead of 14 :) Which 12 of them were less then 2 posts long not including the original post :D

I'm in Manhattan. Had some data problems after updating to 026, but I got it back today. Still 1x, but I had 3G for a few seconds about thirty minutes ago. Here are a few of my speedtest results right after the 3G symbol appeared:

I also did about 5 tests at between 5:30-5:50. They were mostly 45-60kbps dl, but one did hit 99kbps.

i called *228 only got 3019
then manually changed it 3022 it was switching between 1x and 3x so icalled *228 to go back to 3019 but inside it went from 3022 to 3026 and staying on 3x :)

wooot wooot !:D

For Metropcs it's *228, then Option 5 (you'll get recording) - am sure it's the same for all phones, same carrier. This is what I use for my Lg Optimus M and my boyfriend's Samsung Admire. His Admire was @ 3018, then changed to 3019 (have to do again to see if we can get his to 3020). Hope this helps :)

Edited to add: Can also call or go to Metropcs store and I'm sure they can help with this also.

just did this and it updated me to 3026 thanks!!!

Anyone around the metro Philadelphia (I live in South Jersey, 15 mins away from Philly) getting 3G? I'm on PRL 3026 via *228 and updating.

3g in Homestead, FL now. Anyone else have it? I noticed it yesterday. Just popped up on my phone. I was at Ihop, the one on the way to Florida city on US1.
