Help 3g only or automatic (default)

Hi, i am new to android and this forum so please be gentle.
I have a motorola atrix on orange uk and am very happy with it, the only issue i do have is that when i am browsing or checking facebook etc. If my signal drops from H to 3g the browsing stops, and i sometimes get a connection error message, if the signal then goes back to H all is well. My calls are unaffected unless the signal goes completely.
Can anyone please help.

There is a similar post I just replied to. I don't have the option of 3G on my phone. It just allows you to turn off H+ and it goes to Edge. And so far, in spotty areas my phone will go to Edge, but it mainly stays on H+. I never have just plain H.

But, H+ is actually 4G according to ATT. The "real" 4G is LTE and it's not out yet, but they are called HSPA+ an enhanced backhaul 4G.

Maybe the Orange network Atrix is different than the ATT one with the whole 3G thing. But I have never seen the 3G icon or H icon on my phone, just Edge and H+.
