Root 3g Problem After Rooting?

I installed a custom rom (Cyanogen Mod 7 Beta) and I just can't get the 3g to work at all. Am I missing some big important setting? I think it might be the M.IP Settings.

I've also tried activating my phone several times through *228 option 1 (Verizon is mah carrier ) and it says that it completes successfully but the Cyanogen mod reports it isn't, and I believe that over the automated voice. It's been a couple days now and I thought by now, if anyone could help me, it would be the people here.

So, is there anybody who could help me? If I posted in the wrong category, sorry!

check here. go to settings--> wireless and networks -->mobile networks. then check whcih network mode you are set to. it should be CDMA/EvDo.

sometimes i've had it change after flashing different kernels or making some other changes.

Well, the option isn't there in cm7, but another rom had what you are talking about, and it didn't work. It seems to realize that I'm on Verizon Wireless, but it can't connect me to the 3g network.

Yet another rom had 3g appear but it had an R above the signal and it didn't work... So I think it's just not able to put me on it. :/
