Help 3G Problem?

I did some searching and nothing seems to match the problem I am having. I just bought my Samsung Vibrant a couple days ago and I am having a problem with the 3G connectivity. If I turn on my phone it will work for a couple of minutes but then will stop working and none of my internet apps or web browser can connect to the internet. In order to get it to work again I have to shut off my phone and turn it back on then it will work for another minute or so and shut off again. Sometimes even after restarting the phone it won't work.

Things I've tried--
Hard Restarts
Turn to flight mode and back off flight mode
and i have tried all the troubleshooting that starts with the below steps
Apps--Settings--Wireless and network--mobile networks--network mode

Wow, atleast I found someone with similar problems. When I had 2.1 I used to have this problem, I had to restart everytime I wanted to switch from Network Data Plan (NDP) like Edge, to Wifi. But atleast then if would appear but ever since I upgraded to Froyo (2.2) the phone does not connect to the network data plan and only uses the wifi.
I set up my APN perfectly,
Tried widgets,
Factory Reset,
using power button to enable disable flight mode,
smashing my head on the table.

Nothing works. is this a bug (like the TV out option).
