can anbody help about setting my phone for 3G. I have already contacted my service provider(stc),they told me that my 3G is activated already. i have to set it from my phone.

You need to set the Access Point Name settings (APN) in the phone for your wireless carrier. A simple google search would have found these settings which I just copied and pasted here with a few typo fixes:
On the device, tap the Menu icon (or Applications > Menu)
Select Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile networks > Access Point Names.
Press the Menu key and select New APN
Name: Jawalnet
APN: jawalnet.com.sa
Proxy: <Not set>
Port: 8080
Username: <Not set>
Password: <Not set>
Server: <Not set>
MMSC: http://mms.net.sa
MMS proxy: 10.1.1.1
MMS port: 8080
MCC: 420
MNC: 01
Authentication Type: PAP
Remember to hit Menu, Save, then tap the round button to highlight it which enables the new APN. Give it a few minutes and you will see the 3G/H icon and arrows in the status bar at the top. You're good to go.

thankyou,but i only see H and arrows and that is also when surfing the internet i dont see 3G sign and it was there even before these settings.

Don't worry then as you do have 3G set up already. H is the faster version of 3G so it's better
