3G Support for the Note

Bought a Samsung Galaxy Note on Friday in the UK. I was surprised to see under Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Network Mode, the only options are GSM AND WCDMA. Where are the options for Edge or other 3G supported signals?

I had to set up a new APN with the following settings. Now works fine

GPRS-3G Settings

Connection Name: giffgaff - GPRS
APN - Access Point Name: giffgaff.com
Proxy Server Address: 193.113.200.195
Proxy Port:8080
Login - Username: giffgaff
Password: password
MCC: 234
MNC: 10

Interesting, I'll probably have to do something similar with mine, I'm on O2. Ill be using the sim card from my iPhone (with an adaptor) so I've made a note of the settings on that.

Mine is the same but I get 3g no problem

well all i can say is in my little part of the uk 3g sucks a**e when not connected via wireless i have to sit and wait for it to display the little H symbol before i can get to surfing etc.

you can chose WCDMA to force 3G, but those weak 3G area it will be disabled, but if you enable both, it will switch to 2G whenever 3G signal is weak. Mine connected jus fine, got H+ most of the time. Just make sure you install the 3G setting your Telco send to you.
