Root 3g turning white, losing data connection

On the 3 step gb leak. 3g icon randomly turns white and I lose data connections. Only way I can fix is to toggle airplane mode or reboot. Have sbf and reinstalled twice already. Any ideas why this is happening?

I was having the same issue. I sbf'd more times than I care to say.

What worked for me was dialing *228 and choosing option two. This fixed the problem for me, hope it helps you.

I did this early today. Gonna give it a few days before I celebrate, lol. Think I did this before I sbf'd and reinstalled gb last time though. Fingers crossed!!

Well I'm having the same problem again. Anybody got any more ideas? PLEASE!

People around the nation are waking up to no 3g or LTE. Do not panic there is nothing wrong with your device. Vzw is experiencing a nationwide outtage in many areas. They are working on getting it resolved asap.

Yeah I've noticed mine dropping down to 1ex, so has my girls TB - its only for a second or so when I wake the phone. The white 3g and signal bars I havn't a clue, when I wake it sometimes they'll be white but still 3g and good signal - dunno. Need a instruction manual :p

EDIT: - Never mind, just found a pdf here :) http://static.googleusercontent.com/external_content/untrusted_dlcp/www.google.com/en/us/googlephone/AndroidUsersGuide-2.3.pdf

This is not my problem. When 3g turns white I still have several bars, it just won't connect to anything. If I toggle airplane mode or reboot it works again for a while.

I have been seeing this issue too. But mine will go a step further. Sometimes this will happen and I can't receive MMS messages until I go into Airplane mode and back out.

i have experienced something similar as well. i lose my 3g connection, but also, i cannot make or receive any phonecalls. switching airplane mode on and off does not work. i have to reboot completely

Same thing here...it's really getting old. It seems to only happen when I am out of wifi range or I turn wifi off. Sometimes a reboot doesn't even fix it and i have to *228 Option 2 to update roaming...then it's back....ugh!

Same here, no 3G, no phone calls. 3G and reception bars remain white. Reboot fixes for a day or so.

Wife has stock X and standing right next to me has perfect signal.

Seems as though there are some connection problems being reported on the Google Mobile Help Forum by Nexus S owners on 2.3.3.

over two days since switching to .591 and haven't had a loss of signal issue requiring a reboot. Guess there might be something to this.

Anyone else?

Well I thought the new leaks had corrected the problem but I'm still dropping 3G on .595 full deodexed.

When it drops out I can still use WIFI as I am currently doing.

Weird, mine did it last night for the first time since .591 came out. Yea I'm still on 591, wonder if it might have been a problem on verizons end?

I'm on 595 Deodexed and have had the 3g problem once so far since I went from 588 to 595 on Saturday.
Did not try the airplane toggle, just re-booted.
It seems from all the talk that the final OTA is very close but I would have thought a (what I consider) not a minor bug, would have been fixed by now. Oh well, wait and see I guess.

So far all the GB leaks have been 2.3.3, the latest nexus GB OTA is 2.3.4. From .3 to .4 there were some connectivity bugs worked out, hopefully they'll all be worked out with the X OTA as well.

Looks like my phone has started this nonsense too. Occasionally the wifi logo would turn white and I would have intermittent connectivity. Now the 3G signal has started disappearing too these last few days. I still show several bars of signal strength, but the 3G logo just disappears and I have no data connection. Only a reboot was getting it connected again. And this is on .595 deodexed. I'm debating on going back to .340 since it worked without issue.

If I backup my apps with TB (under .595), can I just do a user app restore under .340 without issue?

Apps should be OK, but do not restore any system data. My personal opinion is it's a lot safer let apps restore themselves from the market. Once your back on .340 though it's not too big a deal to restore a clean nandroid backup, if a TB restore goes bad (never actually had that happen). Give it a shot. Backups are your friend.
