3G vs Wi-Fi

I know there was a recent thread on this but the string is too short to search for. I was wondering if there is any speed difference between 3G and Wi-Fi, and which one should I connect to when in an area that has both. Sorry for the newb question. Still hoping 4G comes to Orlando soon.

tons difference. if you have wi-fi, use it. besides speed, i think it's easier on the battery.

i just posted this in another thread. speedtest results using speedtest app:

817 down, 462 up.

then, right after, 455, 431.


not sure what it's supposed to be like. i usually leave wi-fi on.

edit: wi-fi: 9770, 2610.

Wi-Fi is 25x faster for me in my home than 3G. Just did a speed test. 10 Mbps for Wi-Fi, .4 Mbps for 3G on downloads. If Wi-Fi is available it would be the faster option typically.
