Vodafone has started 3G service in my area and has been activated on my Desire.
In settings Network Mode there are three options, WCDMA only,GSM only and GSM/WCDMA auto. I have set it to GSM only.
Do i have to change settings for 3G?

Yes, if you have GSM / WCDMA you will switch between 2g and 3g, whichever is present at the time.

GSM only is only 2G. WCDMA only is 3G only. So if your 3G drops, no connection at all. You need the auto one.
