Hey All. I think my desire hd has some issues. Basically It is killing battery's. Im on my 3rd 1 in 2 months. There all genuine HTC battery's just wondering if maybe my phone is killing them somehow?
I checked temperature and according to my phone the battery hasn't been over 40 degrees centigrade. Have i just got a bad set of battery's?
Or is it something worse??
Cheers, Bentree.

Hey Bentree... been ages since I've posted to you :)

Gutted for you mate... that sounds a little strange!! Something could defo be wrong with your phone... I wouldn't have thought that you could have THAT much bad luck and have had 3 faulty batteries!

Have you tried to contact HTC on it to ask if they've had anything similar reported to them? It may be a case that you have to un-root (you are rooted, aren't you?) and get all back to as it was, to send it back to them! I'd ask HTC first then, if you have to, go back to how it was when you got the phone!

Hey D-U-R-X long time no posting!! I haven't contacted HTC as I was unsure if they would cover it under warranty. Considering the phone is from Telus.
Do you know how long the warranty period is?
Maybe 40 degrees is to hot?
Iv only been having these problems since I'v been leaving it in the car. But I don't leave it in the sun.

All well I better stop complaining.
Thanks for the very fast reply!!

P.S. yeah im still rooted and still running cm7!

Edit:
After phoning HTC they informed me that the battery will fail if it goes over 35 degrees.
Hmm... I pionted out to them that while charging, the phone easily reaches this temperature!! They informed me that my phone is not designed for my area.
Oh well.
I guess I'll just have to keep it in my Lunch box.

The reason I said to try HTC was more to get the info from them as to whether they knew of the issue.

If your phone is not designed for your part of the world, then why do they let Telus have them?? If you can live with it, then no worries... if not... speak to Telus and tell them what HTC said - did you get a copy of what they said "not for your part of the world" and "battery fails if it is over 35 degrees" in writing? You should be able to get Telus to give you a new (different) phone!

Sadly it was over the phone but i might be able to live with it.
I'v got an idea that it could of been bad battery's. As I compared them to my original one ( i knew there'd be a reason to keep it) and they appear to be all sucked in like they have been put in a vacuum. The original is not like that.

Cheers, Bentree.

See if you can get an official HTC one from them, rather than from somewhere else!!

Hehe sounds good. Well its been beautiful clear sky's for the whole week. Lots of heat and plenty of sun lol. sadly i have to work till lunch tomoz. No rest for the wicked.

In that security info sheet which came with Desire HD I've read that the permissible temperature of the battery is 60C.

Didn't read the HTC support their own manuals? ;)

Good news I got a full refund for 2 of the battery's.
Ordered a battery from HTC and there defiantly is a difference in quality compared to the other ones.
