3VO V and JB 4.1

Hello 3VO V users I was browsing around HTC's website and came across the information regarding JellyBean 4.1...

When will additional devices receive Android 4.1?

In addition to the HTC One X and HTC One S, we are actively reviewing our product portfolio to identify candidates to receive Jelly Bean. Our goal is to prioritize review for devices launched in 2012 with our numerous carrier partners across multiple regions and then consider our ability to provide updates to products from 2011.

What devices will not get Android 4.1?

We work hard to ensure each of our products has the optimal user experience and therefore some products will remain at their current version of Android. In general, devices with 512MB RAM or less will not be upgraded to Android 4.1. At present, these devices include the HTC One V and the HTC Desire C. As we identify other devices that will not be upgraded, we'll provide updated information.

It should be noted that upgrades are not the same thing as ongoing support. Devices not being upgraded to Android 4.1 will still get software improvements, security fixes, and technical support.

So considering the 3VO V has 1GB RAM and a 1.2GHz dual core SnapDragon S3 MSM8660 chipset, there is a chance we may see a update to 4.1 and until they officially put out a list of devices that won't be receiving the JellyBean update I'll remain positive. This information is for those that would not rather root their phone and attempt to wait too see what HTC does with their devices.

Does your phone run sense 4 or 3.6? That could also help give you an indication if HTC is planning on upgrading your device to android 4.1

The 3VO V stock runs Sense 3.6 and ICS 4.0.3

Unfortunately I haven't heard of any phones running sense 3.6 getting the update to jellybean, but that isn't any reason to worry, because most phones running sense 3.6 only has 512MB of RAM, and your device has a whole GB. If you said it was on sense 4.0 I would say it's a sure thing, but since it's on 3.6 I can't say that haha

Not happening, ever. This phone has it's update, originally shipped with GB, the phone is eol so I was extremely surprised that they even had the last ota.

Funny this was a topic today. My stepmom, on at&t, got a push notification to upgrade to 4.1.2 on her samsung galaxy skyrocket and she went through with it... She now has 4.1.2... LOL.

Must just be the timing.. :p

No, why would they upgrade a device that sprint users will be upgrading away from and its a prepaid phone on VM.

The whole point of virgin Mobile is to sell people old sprint phones such as the evo 3d which still had many units left. This phone is dead, development on the forums is not. It's prepaid and sprint wants to get rid of it.

I randomly checked for updates today and it was checking for over a minute on Wi-Fi. I thought for a split second there was an OTa coming. Wishful thinking :-/

Wouldn't it have been awesome though? I would be a die hard htc fan, but they don't love us much. Look how long we put up with the radio sms error. They owe us lol
