Help 4.0.4 Signal Issues?

So I just got my Nexus in the mail today first thing it did was ask for an update, which took it to 4.0.4 and then I had the phone activated on my account, there are many times where ill be either in the middle of doing something or even the phone will be asleep and there will be a complete signal drop. Normally its back up within maybe 1min, Im not really liking the idea of re rom-ing the phone. I bought this phone because I want the stock android build. is everyone else having this issue? and is there any fixes?

yes this is a very common issue with the VZW G nex. everyone's mileage varies. The radios are a known issue with this phone. There really is no concrete fix for it.

If it's any consolation I had horrible signal drop on 4.0.4, but since I've rooted and loaded Varnibean v7 Jelly Bean my signal has been rock solid. So there's hope out there. It's obviously not a hardware issue.

Yeah i WANT so bad to go to JB, the only thing thats scaring me is the sticky about all jb roms eventually have booting issues.
The set cpu thing didnt help it was still dropping, im now trying aokp's rom its still 4.0.4 but so far so good. I let it sit for 15 mins and then called it and the call worked so this is hopefully a step in the right direction.

If there was a JB rom i dont have to worry about a booting issue then ill flash it right away

......and dropped SON OF A B####. Do I have a defective phone? If this is common how is everyone getting used to this!!!

It's not your phone. It's the firmware. I have read of some people having reboot issues with Varnibean v7, but I haven't had a single issue with it in the week that I have been running it. Best thing, create a nandroid backup of your current system, then try a JB ROM of your choice. Worse case scenario, flash back to 4.0.4 then restore backup.

I didnt have any issues yesterday with JB, today there was a slight issue but a reboot fixed it, heres to hoping I dont have issues

If it's dropping very frequently, it could be a hardware bug. But if it's only happening in JB, I'd stick with an ICS ROM until JB AOSP source is available and stable ROMs are out.

Yeah I never had JB, thats why I said 4.0.4 lol but I had tried a JB rom to see if that would fix the issue, it didnt. I went to verizon and they exchanged the phone and now the replacement seems to be doing alot better.
