4.1.2 is pants

By this time yesterday my phone had 79% charge remaining on 4.1.1

Today on 4.1.2 its 63% with a lower level of brightness but android system and OS is higher than before.

Wish I hadn't bothered with 4.1.2. Its given nothing of use but resulted in higher battery usage.
grrrrr sort out upgrades google/sammy before you deploy a load of pants.

I noticed absolutely no difference in battery life the day I updated. The following day my wifi wouldn't work. A quick search showed me it was a common problem. End result... my phone is at a service centre.

I really hope when I get it back it hasn't altered battery life. Next time I'll wait at least a month before updating, that way all the bugs/problems will be known and I can update if I want to.

Really glad I have not updated yet as it seems half the topics on the first page are about issues with the new software update.

It seems related to carrier bloat and tweaks that are causing the issues. I have 4.1.2 but devoid of the bloat. I haven't noticed any real issues yet. Battery life is the same for me.

Sprint seems to have a bug with the home button going to recent apps when used to wake the device with no lock screen used. I disabled my lock screen and tried to duplicate the bug. I don't have this bug. Which means the firmware bug may be carrier specific.

I also have flaky wifi when trying to connect with the 5GHz band. But that was since day 1 with the device. 2.4GHz on the other hand works well.

yes. i updated a few days ago and i also seem to think my battery drains a little faster than before the update.

i'm with sprint and i'm kinda wishing i hadn't updated in the first palce. :(

This is absolutely not meant to sound elitist, but do you think this is maybe why Verizon hasn't offered up the update to me yet? I know Verizon has its issues so I don't mean to come across snobby, but I'm wondering if they are not allowing the update to go through because it's not stable enough for their liking. Or they are just really slow, haha.

I don't find this update buggy. My wifi works, home screen button works as should, battery drain is the same. I don't have major issues with it yet. I do have a minor issue with keyboard input where it will freeze sometimes. But that could be the problem with the app itself.

I also did a clean install of the update. Sometimes some old system files still exist that can bugger things up. This method gives the less likely chance of a bug to appear.

I do not doubt that others are having issues, but for me it's either the device was already defective and the update exposed the flaw, or it may be carrier specific. Or the device has residual files that are conflicting with the update. The majority are not experiencing these issues. Otherwise we would have heard ALOT more complaints.

Edit: here's my battery life on 4.1.2.

I'd be inclined to do a factory reset if it didnt take so flipping long to restore it to my personal settings!

Same here! Plus I use GoLauncher EX and it took me days to get it exactly as I wanted (including creating 187 custom icons ffs). No choice now though as the phone is going to Samsung to fix my wifi fault (thanks to the 4.1.2 update).
