4.1.2?

I had issues installing it manually because of my system apps I had removed.

Deleting googles device checks from the updater script allowed me to install it without adding all of that back.

I read on XDA some people are apparently getting the update OTA, even though rooted and it supposedly has no affect on root.
What do you reckon?

Regardless, can you still get OTA updates if rooted?

Yes you'll still be notified of the update. Having a custom recovery can mess with it though. Reports on android police were that it was screwng up root either way.

It honestly takes 1 minute to get it back so I don't really see the issue

I don't have an issue with re-rooting, just that I'm not in a huge rush for the update so can wait for OTA but don't want to wait forever thinking I will get it and it never comes :)

Still nothing. I am not rooted. What's the big whoop about this update anyway?

Everyone gets excited and wants updates NOW! Even if they don't do much of anything :)

The big whoop about this one is that it allows home screen rotation/landscape mode which can only otherwise be enabled half a dozen other ways.
I will be interested to see if it's less laggy than other methods though.

Theres more than home screen rotation baked into it. Android police usually does a good breakdown. Check them out
