Help 4.2.1 Random Reboot

crash count 0, 1d 6h running? Now thisn is what isn reported at my first install od bootlog.

Edit; now at 2 days and 4 hours and still 0 crashes.

Seems like the freeze/reboot issue is happening with a higher frequency these days :-(

Google needs to hurry and fix this!

Edit - anyone notice that the device uptime isn't reset after the devices freezes and soft reboots? Not sure what that means but I found it to be interesting.

No, in settings > about tablet > status. After several freeze/reboots, it stated it was up for 70+ hours. I held the power button and shut it down and the uptime was reset.

I haven't tried the bootlog app yet. I'll give it a go soon and see what it says.

I haven't checked there. Perhaps the built-in uptime counter counts the last time since a full hard reset or power down.

Bootlog Uptime definitely shows each time my device has soft reset on its own and the uptime at the time, and the uptime in the app resets each time.

I had a crash after 2d 16h but that was my fault with my email playing with 3 email 2 clients and exchange server so I really do not know if I should count that.................

Are we certain this issue is OS related? I have until the end of the week to return it and the freeze/reboot is the only problem I have.

I'm not certain but I think the problem started after the 4.2.1 update. I've only had one reboot not long after the update and no other problem. Except, last night it froze twice for about 30 seconds. Never happened before and I've had this one about 2 months now. I've seen people say it is a GPS problem and people say it is a WiFi problem. I'm not sure when a fix may come.

I have seen several people around various places on the Internet claim that they have received multiple RMAs and none of them solved the issue. I've also seen people claim that they no longer had the issue after using a custom ROM and kernel in place of stock.

Just search "Nexus 10 freezing" on Google and read away.

Yea I've read plenty of threads about the issue, especially over at xda. I just needed some reassurance.
I'll hang onto this one.

Happened to me twice yesterday, once while streaming music on Google Play and the other while web browsing using Dolphin Browser.

I can't believe they haven't released an update yet. I've got all of those things disabled but mine still crashes about 3 times a day!! Getting very frustrating now

I still have yet to have a reboot. I did reflash a fresh image about a couple of weeks after I got it (unlocked, rooted, went back to stock....normal testing the waters with a new device kind of stuff). I am still running the CM 10.1 nightlies and leaving the device on 24/7. I have bootlog uptime installed and the only time that there is a break in the log is from flashing a new nightly release every two days (I'm not gready and have to flash every one).

I have heard the device is far more stable with custom ROMs. Here is my Boot log Uptime log running stock 4.2.1:

Looks like you know what you need to do ;)

Heh. Yeah, I suppose that is true. But I am waiting for the next Android version. I don't necessarily want to move to a custom ROM built from a flawed source.

Or you can try downloading a fresh copy of the image and flashing it. I was on stack for a couple of weeks with no problems at all.

I have found all random reboots to be associated with Chrome. Tried several other browsers but The Firefox Beta is working fine for me at the moment.

The freezes and reboots started occurring far less frequently when I ditched Chrome for Firefox but they still occur pretty regularly, even when I am not using the tablet.

I have not used Chrome in a couple of weeks and still experience reboots.

I've experienced reboots while updating apps, using tablet talk, Google search, browsing on boat browser etc. Typically occurs once a day although I went almost two days without one last week.

My galaxy 10 has never rebooted (All Sock) But my GNex phone did it three times the other day, every time when I was using Firefox. I switched back to the stock browser and it stopped.

I don't understand why chrome causes problems. Its a Google tablet and a Google app? Why on earth is this happening? Everybody just seems to shrug shoulders but its a tad embarrassing for Google surely?
