4.2 (Update: OTA is on the way)

Just checked for updates d 4.2.1 was sat there waiting.

Installed, no issues. Nothing lost and everything working.

I've not spent any time looking for the differences yet like the camera. All I have noticed is the multi-user option under 'User' in 'Settings' and the fact than the tablet seems to be a whole lot snappier.
Chrome is now super quick and web pages load a lot quicker.

No issues with Bluetooth at all. I heard some where having problems. A soon as the update was completed I tethered back up to my android phone instantly. It's the only method of internet access I use. No problems at all. I did notice to white Bluetooth icon in the task bar that show when internet connection is established is much bigger. Not sure why they would change that.

I haven't yet noticed the black line flashing across the screen. This mainly happened in the gmail app which I still need to try. I hope its gone now.

So far so good.

Plus, when I try to set the stock wallpaper it displays it on 90% of the screen, the other 10% is black.

Had this before the update. I found restarting the tablet sorted it out.

Mine updated without issue. Also gallery still works just fine. Haven't tested bluetooth yet and likely won't until tonight or tomorrow.

OK, I'm at work and don't have my tablet on me so I can't check the exact message. But for the past week or two when i checked under "about tablet" for updates, it said something like "Unfortunately, XYZ client has stopped", and then I could hit "OK", and that was that. Seemingly no actual check done. Other than that, the tablet works great, but I'm still on Jellybean 4.1. So, any ideas how to get the OTA update for my NONROOTED tablet? Something's screwy.

So, a factory reset as opposed to just a reboot. I will try that when I get home.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I did the factory reset. I remembered to back up my apps, take out the microSD card, etc, everything went great. Well, except for the part where I forgot to back up my photos. C'est la vie.

I now have 4.2.1. It seems nice.

4.2.1 and 4.1.1 on the TF300 and TF700 is now rootable. The program can be found at XDA-developers. Just thought I'd let everyone know :).
