Help 4/24 OTA firmware update

Damn! :( I wonder if it's going to happen to me soon? I'm almost 48 hours on mine and so far, no random reboots, boot loops, etc. I do like the "Always request desktop site" option in the browser... finally!

Have you tried the power wart in the freezer trick? (If you don't know it, there is a thermal failsafe or something within the plug, if it gets too hot it stops working. Put the wart into a ziplock bag and toss it into the freezer for an hour or two.)
 
Last night went to use my TF and it was off. If/when something does happen, it usually is stuck in the boot screen. 1st time it has totally shut off.

It took a real long press of the power button to get it to turn back on.

This tablet is really starting to become a nag. Wish I bought something else.
 
Took about 60 hours, but I just caught my TF playing dead. Held down power for reboot. Also battery stats dropped about 5% in the short time, so it was a power drain issue too. Bummer!
 
Worked for a while for me, but she woke up dead this morning. Boo. This is hideous. Made a fairly useful product semi less useful. Disappointing that my former stable device is so inconsistent now.
 
There's a moral to this series of tragic stories: if it's not broke don't fix it.

My TF101 works like a dream on ICS 4.03, but my build is out of date. Am I going to update it? Not a chance.

Seriously!
When I did the previous manual update from the support.Asus.com it was working pretty damn good.

I spoke too soon... almost 48 hours exactly after the update, I powered on my tablet to see a boot loop screen. Powered it on, put it on the charger, and installed AutoAirplane from the Play Store. Oh well.

For me, the sleep of death has been when I put the tablet away with a lot of power still left in it and the dock only to pull it out later and not have it turn on. The batteries end up getting completely drained and require each part to be charged separately before using again. The really bad part about this is that with current battery technology, a complete discharge isn't exactly the best idea from what I gather.

And with that said, I've had exactly that happen to me. Prior to this last update, I had a nice work around going and that now no longer works. These updates keep getting worse and worse.

You are correct. Complete drainage kills today's batteries, as opposed to older NiCad technology. Thanks again Asus.
 
For the same update we got on 4/24, out one that's newer yet? Can you post the build number, once it's completed?
