Help 4.3 Update pushing out now worldwide. Discuss/issues

so im a bit skeptical about updating as ive read there are a few issues but i cant seem to get rid of the notification it just tells me i can get a reminder but still wont go

do i have to update?

You do not have to update if you don't want to, but keep in mind only people with problems go online and post in forums for help and they are in the minority. For every 1 person who goes online with a problem there are likely 10 people who are perfectly happy with their device and have no problems at all, but you don't hear from them.

What issues are you talking about?

I found no massive issues at all really apart from the no lockscreeen option which I don't use anyway.

Apart from that it was a very good update.
 
those are YOUR issues and are not uniform for everyone who has updated.

i had no such issues and many others have not had any issues.

as has been talked about in the past, its RECOMMENDED to factory reset AFTER an update like this as things can get tangled ;) up in the process of updating and could cause some gremlins to be birthed.

uninstalling/reinstalling the offending programs may yield some success but if not, a factory reset is almost guaranteed.

its up to each person if they choose to update or not, no one can make that decision for you. do anything with your device at your own risk.

Im not a programmer, so Im not going to dig into anything too technical. But I hate everything about the latest update! The graphics suck, nothing works the same. I. Hate. This. How can I roll back to what I had before I trusted this stupid update to be something good?
 
Did any of you notice a change in the sound of the speakers after the update? I regular use the speakers when I'm on conference calls because the audio sounds so great. After the update today, it sounds--for lack of a better term--like the speakers are out of phase. If you've ever heard a stereo system with one speaker accidentally wired with the polarity reversed, you know what I'm talking about. It went from being an amazing phone to a crappy phone, in a sense. I use this feature regularly and now it's unusable. I was on a call for four hours today and I had to use earphones the entire time because the speakers were too difficult to listen to.
 
I got the verizon 4.3 ota update this morning, but it did not update sense to 5.5...i am still on sense 5.0.

Is this happening to anyone else?

From what I have read, the International version with 4.3 has Sense 5.5. Whereas American users with 4.3 still have Sense 5.0. Sense 5.5 will come with 4.4 for American users. Probably this applies to Canadian users too.

Hey all, last night,p my son took a system update for his HTC One, running android 4.3. The new software version is 3.05.651.5. Ever since he did the update, he hasn't been able to make calls or send or recieve text messages. I've tried turning it off and on, I've tried updating PRL and profile and it says it cant perform the update. Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT: Followup.

Just got back from Best Buy.... found out that the radios had randomly turn off. All is well now. Plus I got him the Note 2 while we were there....

Anyone actually see any improvements or changes?
I haven't seen anything new BUT all weekend long when I try to update my profile/prl/etc.
I get Error Code 1233 ???:mad:

* getting this also today: LTE: ESM-65535 Unable to establish a wireless data connection

* 2+ weeks and Still can't update Profile or PRL ????
 
I want to uninstall the 4.3 update on my htc one.I've been having bad battery issues lately and I've read a lot of people have after this update and I can't figure out how to downgrade software.I did a factory reset but it's still there.
 
as has been previously asked in this thread, once you install the OTA, you can not revert to older firmware. your only other option is to root and install a 3rd party rom.

After the 4.3 update my One started doubling or tripling still pictures throughout the whole highlight video. I thought it was a bug but I contacted HTC and they said that is the new way it is done. I think it looks stupid now. I like the old effects better. Anyone agree?

Did you use this feature prior to the update?

are you referring to ZOE? or the other htc gimmick that sends a link to people when you want to share (HTC SHARE)?

IF ZOE, this is normal as it does take several stills, combines them with sound and narration.

OK, thanks for moving it to the right thread.

I am on Verizon, not rooted.

I am reffering to the Video Highlight feature when you view an album it automatically creates a thirty second video clip compiled from still pictures, Zoes, and videos in an album and adds music and transition effects.

Before the update it did not display stills twice or three times at once throughout the while clip. It only started after the update. I returned the device since I was in the return period and the new one behaved the same before and after the update.
 
more than likely the returned device has the 4.3 update already as well right?

if htc has said this is the "new way", there is not much we can do to fix that. if you sent in a trouble ticket about this, and if others report on it, htc may change it. i doubt, though, that many people use or care enough about this to complain.

I dont use the feature but i will attempt this on the one max and will report back. :)
 
The new device I got had 4.2, I wasn't going to update it but it forced me to, kept poopinup a message to update which got old really fast

Since updating to Jelly Bean, I've noticed when I charge the phone and it's OFF, a nice animation appears with a battery and the % charged ... after a minute or so it's gone and doesn't come back. Any way to get it to stick around? TIA!
