This is not what you want to hear, but it is recommended with any major/minor OS update to do a factory reset to clear old files that are still left from the old OS. Like a clean install on a PC as opposed to a upgrade. I was having problems with mine till the Factory Reset.
Go to Settings/Back up and reset, then choose Factory data reset.

4.3 update on my Vodafone unbranded handset from CPW. No problems with the download or install. I'm in the UK. Baseband version is I9300XXUGMJ9 - Build Number is JSS15J.I9300XXUGMJ9

Like that you can now change your device name and that Move to SD Card has returned.

I may have seen in one of the updates that if you run into problems after updating you was to do a factory reset to clear all data from the device . This would also include the new dalvic cache being cleaned.

can you now use usb storage
because the debug in the settings is now missing ????????

Have you activated Developer Options? If not, go to About Phone, find Build Number and (i swear im not lying) tap it 7times to activate Dev Options lol ;)
USB debugging is in there

I tapped it 7 times and pressed debug usb wat does that do? Lol.... so I you all think I should factory reset the phone? :/

What happened with 4.3 update today?... I thought it was coming out today for the S4 and the S3 in ATT

I loved my galaxy s3 until this update now it's nothing but frustration.
Do you have any recommendations as to steps to take in preparation for a factory reset?
Hoping to accomplish the task avoiding as many potential problems as possible.
Thanks for your help.
I miss my phone.

Hey funky, have you checked out the unofficial CM 11 KitKat ROM or any other 4.4 ROM? Currently running it on my Sprint S3.

Aye mate ive got a nandroid of a great build for i9300 based on CM11 set up. It runs stunningly.
Only thing is i cant get External SD to work. Camera and everything else works fine though.
Also, im a big fan of Xposed Framework so im kinda waiting until they make that compatible with kitkat and fix the lil bugs before i make it my daily :)
Im on Carbon nightlys justnow (4.3.1) n theyre pretty sweet

To anyone who have already updated to 4.3 from Samsung, don't bother doing a FDR, it does nothing. The update is, like FunkyLogik and others have stated, a complete dud, FDR or no.

Must just be me - 4.3 looks and behalves fine! Ok a bit slow to wake up but that improved after I turned on power saving...

Android OS looks like a bit of a power hog in battery, but thats also improved in the last few days...

Lucky you! Wish I could say mine was fine, but it's actually dangerous; I can't make or take a phone call without having to wait for ages, and sometimes it doesn't even register a call coming in, screen just stays blank, doesn't vibrate or ring and the only way to get it to respond is pull the goddamn battery. It's intolerable.

Same as nearly everyone above, both me and my wife got the update last week phone hasn't worked properly since.
People keep saying: just roll back to and earlier version. Can anyone just tell me how to do that, please.
