Help 4.4.2 problem what to do?

After updating her S4 Active to 4.4.2, my daughters phone now requires her to turn off and on her phone to connect to 4g, several times a day.

Any thoughts on what we should do?

If it's the 4.4.2 bug I had then.....No thoughts as there's no fix for that.
I went through 6 phone exchanges until my carrier finally gave up and offered me 50% off an upgrade.

Only thing to try for s*** and giggles would to do a factory reset.

Good luck

Went to ATT and spoke to a salesperson. Stated he has the same exact issues and ATT and Samsung are working on it.

Suggested I go to their service center and have the phone reflashed back, said they could do it. Called service center, they again acknowledged issues and stated they COULD NOT reflash the phone back to old software.

Some of her problems have gone away after removing a program called Apkiller. Guess we will have to wait for the new software.

Yeah, I went threw all those same steps. It's kind of sucks. As on my phone 4.2.2 was the best.

As for app killer, just use the built-in stock task manager widget. It works really good.

I don't know if ATT did something within the network, but strangely enough today after deleting the killer app, she has had no issue all day long today here in the Houston area.

It's a good possibility that it was the third party app killer that was causing the issue then. That's partially why the S4 and other Android phones are starting to install there own stock versions. The third party versions can be very aggressive sometimes.

No issues again today, we may be in the clear here with 4.4.2.

Hopefully this was fixed on the network to accept the new firmware/software update.

Keep an eye on the network status icon. If it freezes up in locations where it jumps up and down from 4G LTE to 4G. Yet it never has to be reset in an area with solid 4G LTE. Then it might be the network issue that came with the 4.4.2 upgrade.

two times today with 4gLTE in display

Having the same problem with my phone in Houston. Having to reset multiple times a week sometimes a day.

I think it is time to upgrade my phone anyway.

I know you're on ATT, but T-Mobile just released a 4.4.4 update.
Check your phone to see if an update was released for ATT.

I had an update available on ATT but it still shows 4.4.2 after installing. Don't know what was supposed to be in that or if it fixed anything yet

See if your build number changed. If it matched with what the updates build number should be then your phone took the update properly. If it didn't change then it didn't take to your phone properly.

I went online with ATT. They said they are still working on it with Samsung but he believed it would be out soon. He said they are aware of issue and still working on it! He said a quicker reset was to go to airplane mode for 15 seconds and then turn off airplane mode.

Me thinks they are dragging their feet to team up with Apple for their new phone launch!
