Help 4.4.2 Update

This morning I took the 4.4.2 update on an un-rooted S3. After a few minutes my data connection went away. It took 45 minutes on the phone with tech support to restore it. At one point the phone had to be reactivated. They said a shortcut way was a factory reset, but all data is lost. Also, they said there were a lot of service calls about this. I actually thought the service from VM was good, but wondered why they could not get the update right.

It would not have been so bad had my Comcast internet not quit at the same time. That took much longer to resolve.
 
The update seems to have affected most VM S3 owners the same way. For many, a profile/PRL update takes care of it, but my phone had to go through reactivation too. Thankfully I saw some posts about it here and on Facebook, and managed to avoid calling tech support. Glad they were able to get you up and running without needing the factory reset!

Guess I was lucky, clean install with AT&T last night, I'm just excited the s-voice now works again with this update vs the last junk released. I feel for you getting comcast support to actually work, I'm still trying to get the X1 delivered from over a year ago.
 
I got the update on friday The only thing I have noticed so far is that my car charger doesn't charge my phone, Verizon S3. The car charger worked friday night and saturday morrning. I got the USB notification icon and the words your charger is incompatible with this phone.I fb Samsung and wrote told them what happened so Joan responded askingme for my model number and carrier, did so, not a word since Saturday afternoon. Home chargers work fine. Went to Best Buy, the Samsung tech checked the charge port, everything is ok. Bought a rocketfish charger.
