This morning I took the 4.4.2 update on an un-rooted S3. After a few minutes my data connection went away. It took 45 minutes on the phone with tech support to restore it. At one point the phone had to be reactivated. They said a shortcut way was a factory reset, but all data is lost. Also, they said there were a lot of service calls about this. I actually thought the service from VM was good, but wondered why they could not get the update right.
It would not have been so bad had my Comcast internet not quit at the same time. That took much longer to resolve.
