4.4.3 upgrade for the M8?

Was looking to see if anyone has any information about this. I thought I had read about updated Kitkat coming to the M8 but cannot recall the details. Thanks in advance.

There still isn't any firm release date. Originally it was slated for the end of the May per the rumor mill, unfortunately like most rumors it looks like that is not happening. Most likely the rollout will be in late June or July for GPE devices. Looks like it's already happening!

Considering you are with a U.S. carrier, I would not expect to see anything rolled out to our devices until at least July-early August(if we are lucky).

Until Nexus devices get it, there will likely be only rumors. This update seems to have been suspended or possibly even canceled considering Google IO is less than a month away.

Aww, that stinks. Reason I asked is because I heard it contained the extreme battery saver. Also, isn't it supposed to improve Google Now?

If your with Verizon i wouldn't expect the extreme power saver pretty much ever. Also the 4.4.3 was pretty much only bug and security fixes for nexus and Google play devices and I don't think any features so we prob won't get any either

My M8 is still running 4.4.2 with AT&T and I already have the Extreme Power Save along with the regular Power Save so what else is supposed to be new with 4.4.3? I hope it's new or fixed stuff and not just an expansion version for new devices.

The main reason I got the M8 on the Edge program was so when new versions of Android are released I can just trade up for a device with that version lol OS updates was one thing I think I'll miss about the iPhone

I've got the international version and don't have the extreme power save mode. A friend of mine has one also but his phone DOES have. What gives?!

I hope the manufacturer and/or the carriers don't 'hobble' this phone in an attempt to make it quickly obsolete. I had an expensive unlocked phone once and that was the case. When running the OS and my carrier's operator file, many features on the unlocked phone were grayed out. One such feature was obviously deleted to conserve the carrier's bandwidth and limit usage. When an update to Windows Mobile was announced; the manufacturer, Motorola, and the carrier, AT&T refused to offer it in the U.S making people buy new expensive phones even though the updated OS was compatible with the older model. Microsoft was of no help saying that the update had to come from the carrier. I was able to download the updated Windows Mobile from a Chinese phone carrier's web site, flash it on my phone, run it and change the language option from Chinese to English. Using it with my American carrier's operator file, I had many new features that took true advantage of the hardware capabilities of the phone but I had to mod to get them. And yes I know this is a Google Android phone not Microsoft, but I really don't want to get into flashing phones again.

This update has screwed up my phone. Camera doesn't take but one pic and now puts a check Mark or an x on the screen. Similar to if you sending a picture mail and open the camera through the messaging app. If you check it then it closes the camera app and goes to home even if you weren't done. That and the flash is now automatically on until I turn it off. Once the camera closes it turns back to on by default when you reopen it.

So far I have noticed that it gives you WiFi calling, a file manager, hd voice when calling another phone with hd capability. That is all I have noticed

Thanks for the heads up.
Any news regarding about T-Mobile Poland? 1.57.118.2 firmware version.
We don't even have extreme power Saving mode yet...
:(

This is as far as I could navigate on HTC POLAND before GOOGLE TRANSLATE stopped translating:

HTC One (M8) | HTC Polska

EDIT:

After a 2nd look,I found no more information regarding updates.Perhaps trying the chat line might get some kind of response.

As for information from T-MOBILE,those of us on T-MOBILE US (TMUS) have to do two things to access information regarding updates:

1) Log-in to your account: Strona gBówna - Najlepsza oferta na telefony i abonament - T-Mobile (T-MOBILE POLAND)

2) Only then are we afforded access to all of the support functionality, the link is usually at the bottom of any page on T-MO's sites.
Once you click on to that, you'll most likely be prompted to create a support account.
Then, you should be able to navigate to the information regarding updates & support forums.

Thanks for your input. Problem is I bought a supposedly carrier free phone (it's indeed unlocked) from Amazon Spain, it came from an Italian store) but it came with this T-Mobile Poland firmware. This is a problem affecting many buyers here is in Europe, from what I've read. I sent an email to t mobile Poland asking for their help and this was their answer:

Hello*

Thank you for correspondence.

*

I have no kwonwledge that can confirm that most European phones come with our Polish T-Mobile firmware. The fact is that branded firmware is only prepared by phone producer for devices that can be aquired via contracts and other T-Mobile promotion for our clients in Poland.

*

If the phone is from other distribution (beside Polish T-Mobile) it should have slightly diffrent firmware*and why it doesn't have one - I cannot answer that and I'm affraid*it is not our issue. Maybe the phone is second handed, bought in Polish T-Mobile but I cannot*verify that or provide any further information without proper contract data of the owner.*

*

As for eventual update - for now firmware 1.57.118.2 is the latest one we have from HTC and unfortunetaly we have no*data about future updates. We are aware that it lacks certain features but we can only wait for official firmware form producer.*

I bought mine, supposedly sim free and unlocked, and it is unlocked, but when changing ringtones, I noticed that there a T-Mobile ringtone in the list.
Got mine from Handtec in the UK. As yet, no software update.
