Help 4 bottom buttons not lighting up?

Is the nexus 4G bottom buttons supposed to light up?? We literally just walked out of Sprint with the new phone and we r unsure of this....my wife needs to be able to see home, menu, etc.

Yes, they're supposed to light up when you turn the screen on. That's a hardware problem, bring it right back and get it exchanged.

well, i feel now that is apart of the brightness settings.....when its on auto, its like they do not light up as much....possible?

On my Nexus S 4G, the lights on the 4 bottom buttons are always the same no matter what the brightness settings are. I'd take the phone back and get a new one like JarffVC.
