Root 4EXT - How do you do a backup/restore?

Hello all,

I recently installed 'midnightrom' (S-on) and Im loving it. Id like to make a FULL backup image of my device using 4ext (full version). How do I do this? The website is vague. What I would like is a full backup of everything so that if I try another rom and dont like it I can always restore back to the EXACT spot I am now.

I used nandroid on the Triumph and that was great at creating a simple restore copy of each of my roms. I could boot in and out of various roms with ease. Will 4ext do this? Is there an easy 'rom manger' that will work in this scenario?

Thanks!

I am new to 4EXT too, but tried it a few times backing up and restoring. Go into Recovery/Manage your backups/, select "new" to backup. The default is backup everything, which I did. The backups will show up in the list below. You could click any of those to restore the backup. Hope this helps.

That's why between media, roms and Nandroids I went to a 64 gig card. ;-)

Im on an 8gb and now only have 2gbs left! Is it just a matter of getting a bigger card and using my desktop to copy all the files from the smaller card to the large? Will that work?

Thanks

That will work. I have done this a couple times, upgrading from 8GB -> 16GB -> 32GB...

Yeah, a quick copy/paste is all that you need.

Also there is an app in market called "disk usage" and it works seamlessly with "solid explorer " I personally recommend these two apps for anyone that has a rooted device which makes everything so easy especially when it comes to making room on your sd card. I have a 32 and use every bit of it lol so I am constantly in my sd. One way to keep a lot of space on your sd is to delete useless backups, well which ones are useless you might ask the disk usage app will make it extremely easy for you to decide, and it shows you in an easy and user friendly way, I mean it, give it a try.
