Root 4ext recovery touch question...

Hi everyone!

Whilst playing with 4ext recovery touch last night i accidently did an 'advance backup' of data or it could have been system information. either way it took up about 300mb worth of much needed space!
My question is where on earth did it store this back up. I need to delete it as it's space i can't afford to use.

Anyone know where it would be and how i delete please?

thanks in advance:)

I am not 100% sure on this, as I don't actually use this recovery (I use clockwork)... still actually using a non-touch version... I really should look at changing that though!

I guess that you're talking about space on your SD card... here's what I'd have a look at (just done this quickly on my phone, using Root Explorer, but I'm sure that any file explorer should be ok):

Enter Root Explorer, scroll down to the folder called "sdcard", scroll down to the folder called "clockworkmod" (guess your's would be called "4ext" or some such)... think you would then select the folder called "backup" and you should be able to see it in there.

Hopefully someone who has a little more experience in this sort of thing will chime in and either correct me or confirm what I've said! :)

If "someone" hasn't seen it yet, I'm sure he will soon! ;)

Hi Durx, I also use root manager and found the 4xt folder however when you open it all it shows is a few files namely 4ext.prop, 4xtudater.apk, control, theme.prop, version none of which contain the back up that i'm looking for

Thanks for you idea though and like you say someone on here will know. :)

Cheers!

Hiya DC...

Sorry that's not helped! :( Not sure what to suggest to be honest... have you tried connecting the DHD to your computer and using windows file explorer to view all items by create date/file size? It may take a little searching, but you may be able to find it like that

I'm on my phone so I can't link, but search for disk storage or storage analyser in the market and it will give you a graphical representation of what is taking up space on your sd card and where it is stored

Cheers i'll give it a go :)

I used 4EXT many times and all back ups are placed in the sdcard/clockworkmod/backup folder and advanced backups are in sdcard/clockworkmod/advanced in the relevant folder eg. system backup in sdcard/clockworkmod/advanced/system.

As for the backup you made you can just delete the advanced folder. All the advanced backup does is make an image of the different partitions etc system, data etc etc.
