I am still new to the Evo. I have achieved root but have not attempted s-off. What ROMs can I use with S-on? Or can someone provide a link for 4ext that I have read about?
 
The only ROM that was suggested in my thread was one that, when reading the installation instructions, said that S-off was required. Thanks for the suggestions
 
You can use viper3d. I could of sworn I had mobster HD lite for an hour while s-on. I'm sure any ICS 4.04 w/ sense will work fine with S-ON.
 
I purchased 4ext and will try flashing some ROMs with it. If I wasn't addicted to flashing, I would leave it alone. Did that sound bad? lol
 
You can flash them all with S-On. Theres just some extra steps...

you have to fastboot flash boot boot.img pulled from the rom zip :\ theres guides for flashing with s-on, you can find them pretty quick

Personally I think it's even simpler to just fastboot boot recovery. This will allow you to flash the kernel and rom together. Just one fastboot command and no pulling the boot.img.

As far as flashing kernels that are included with roms that is true, however certain roms require a downgraded hboot which does require that you s-off first.
