Help 4g CONNECTION FAILED!

I'm in the same boat! Let me say that i joined this forum just to reply to this thread.

I am in a regular 4ge area non an extended area. I am dropping bad from 4g to 3G to 1x to no data. It appears to start about 1 milee east of my house where I randomly loose connection.

It's driving me crazy as I have fabulous connections elsewhere in the 4g area! What is going on? The extended area is quite away from where I am located according to verizon maps!

Is it Verizon or HTC?

Edited it is either all or nothing! If I have a connection it may start working great then all of the sudden stop.

I honestly think that verizon is doing something with their 4g network. Since the news was that the 4g team was hard at work trying to get the network ready for launch. I mean 2 days ago it was cycling like crazy through 1x 3g and 4g at my school and today all the way on the freeway and at school my connection never disconnected. So it actually is not the phone. Something has to be up at verizon's end. I got great 4g signal at home until last night where it randomly started disconnecting.

I was with tech support on the phone she said there is no outage in any area but they are working everyday to get more towers up and running and sometimes they have to turn some stuff off in order to get everything working correctly.

I am about to flip on 3g now see how that works. I think there is something up in my area. No reason it shouldn't work after 2 days of working trouble free. As on the map I am suppose to have 100% 4g coverage.

same here, los angeles area- my 4g/3g fluctuates. coverage seems to go away completely at random moments. this happens mostly indoors, but had not happened previously on my eris/3g only phone
Ok I am in so cal too. Last night it just randomly kept on dropping 4g and I was like WTF because it was working like crazy the day before. So this morning I was heading to school and boy on my way to fullerton, ca. I got great 4g connection and never disconnected and I was browsing the net and refreshing pages and in half an hour I never saw the 4g symbol go away. The funny part is 2 days ago on my way to school it couldn't find 4g and this time it worked better. It is like the towers switched places, I got epic coverage at my house and now it keeps dropping 4g. The problem is I get full 4 bars but the connection just keeps dropping. I am getting tired of this shit. I mean how can one day I get epic coverage at my house and the next day the 4g keeps dropping. Since thursday this is the first time I had issue at home. For the last day every time I try to browse a page it takes the page a full minute to load because it keeps dropping 4g.

I think you have a point. I was getting good coverage for 2 days but for some reason indoors now my 4g seems to cut off. I think that is the pain of being new to 4g, and having the first 4g phone on verizon network. I think for the first few months we will be going through this. Like Panda said they took the 4g team off to improve their 3g network to compliment iphone 4 and that was one of the reasons for the delay, and the team is not working night and day to improve 4g.

FYI, I am in the Oklahoma City Market. I have no problems with this happening except at my house, in or out doors. You travel approximately 1 mile to the East or the South and coverage is great no problems with the data. This morning I was locked to 1x could not even get 3g.

I just switched to Verizon from ATT last Thursday. I was using a Droid Pro test phone for approximately 3 prior to switching to Verizon to ensure that coverage was adequate for my business. I had absolutely no problem maintaining great constanct 3g at the same location I am having issues with the 4g.

Currently on phone with Verizon opening a ticket.

for those folks who aren't having problems with their connections -
do any of you have the VZW location services ON? I just switched it on and have had a much stronger 4G connection, even indoors

The problem I have is I am in the heart of 4g coverage. I mean in the dead center according to their map. Me having good service for 2 days and then all of the sudden it cant even hold on to 4g anymore inside my house. Kinda sucks if u ask me. Verizon needs to get their shit straight here in spcal.

I am really starting to think that as the more users are signing on the phones are dropping users from 4g data connection. It connects all the time but as soon as I try to push data through it, it will disconnect and connect constantly and eventually load a webpage, it wasn't like this for the first two days. I am thinking since this is the first 4g phone out may be they are having issues with more users on their network. 3g is very reliable for me, but there is no reason I shouldn't have reliable 4g connection since I am in the heart of the 4g area. While at my school I was getting reliable 4g connection when I wasn't getting it two days ago, lol. Something is definitely up in So cal area. May be not enough towers to handle more load.

I wouldn't have a problem if it was going from 4G to 3G for whatever reason. But I had ZERO data capability for most of the weekend, and the 4G/3G/1X icons were blinking like a Christmas tree without any real connection. Now it seems to be working much more consistently as of late yesterday, here in so cal. Hopefully they got the network sorted by now.

AN UPDATE: I finally figured out what the hell is going on.

First 2 days at my house: Great service and no service at my school or even on the freeway.

last two days: I can't get a stable connection at my house but at school the roles have reversed and on the freeway to school the 4g symbol never goes away.

Today I drove west a 2 miles away from my house and got great coverage. Then I drove back right when I was within a mile of my house the 4g symbol started disappearing and reappearing, on off constantly.

Came back from school and within a mile of my house same thing happened.

I am suppose to be in the middle of the 4g map and I am suppose to have great service.

Something happened in the last two days that wasn't suppose to happen. I dont know why I am not getting consistent 4g connection around my house within a mile radius.

Call tech support they want you reset your phone everytime. Its like they have a list given to them on what to do and they say a prayer and hope one of those steps work. All they say is you should be getting great service at your house and no explanation on why I am not getting it. Oh well I will switching on 3g at my house and hope that they fix whatever the hell is going on. I mostly have houses around my house, no major business area. I hope they didn't take power away from this area and distributed it else where.
