Help 4g. EV. 1x

I know how to disable 4G...
when u disable 4G, u let your phone go on EV or 1x...
is there a way to disable EV and let 1x work all the time????

When my phone is on EV signal bars flickers from full to nothing and i think if im on a call this makes to have some problems throu hearing and talking but no call drops...
i cant really tell if this hearing problem happens cause of area.. but i can tell that this only happens when its on EV. it doesnt happen when its on 4g or 1x.


so i want to know if there is a way to disable ev and let 1x work...
 
I'm not 100% sure on this. But I think voice is on 1x/ev and 4g is data. Except when you have no 4g then 1x/ev has to pull the data load too. If and when we get volte then voice and data will be both 4g. No you can't disable 1x/ev.

but when i disable data on my phone
im not able to get pictures...
i want to have enable something to get pictures but not using ev cause i think the bars flickering its not making any good...
 
I use 4g Toggle from the market its free. Turn 4g off and picture message should still come in. As far as turning off EV I don't think you can. The bar flicker I think is a bug cuz mine does it too and I'm in South Florida.
 
yeah the toggles just turn mobile data off. i think the threadstarter may be going into "CDMA only" mode instead of just turning mobile data off.

Im in South FL also, but i start to think everytime bar flickers and im talking there are like "cuts" in the comunication.... cant really say thats a fact
but it happens just few times i was on EV..... most of the time im on 4G and didnt have this problem...
 
when you're talking while on EV does the caller say that you're going in and out and they cant hear you?
 
they can hear me but with some problems..
i can talk there s no problem but there is a second of silence in a middle of a word sometimes
 
4g Toggle and you select cdma only mode it does not turn off mobile data. Yes you can send and receive picture messages and post in forums in cdma only mode. :D

switching cdma/lte to cdma only.

If I m not wrong i end up having ev or 1x....
now i have doubts if that gets data off.

but sometimes i get ev or 1x in places like parking buildings or first floor on huge buildings..
 
Cdma data is still on.. I'm in homestead watching dog the bounty hunter ev with no bars sending this msg. Lol.

ok so i ll see what to do.. i dont think there s a way to turn of ev..
and maybe the problem is not on ev maybe it was the place i was at that moment..
just keep that in mind and check if u have the same problem while you r on EV.

Im using juicydefender for a week and my battery last a lot longer.. but i want to stop using juicydefender and start using phone on 1x to have phone online
to get pictures or maybe using a messenger in background...
but thats only cause i think i have this problem on EV...

yeah you're not turning mobile data off, you're just switching from LTE(4G) to CDMA(EV and 1x).

either find an app that will toggle mobile data on and off or go to settings>>wirelessnetworks>>>mobilenetworks and uncheck the data enabled box.
 
It's most likely just metro. I work 11 to 7 am and most nights 4g goes in and out till I put it in ev mode. $10 extended battery from ebay was well worth it. Opera mini is great in ev mode it helps with the data usage.

No, im using juicy defender so my data is being set on ar off depending if i have wifi or not..
but the thing is that i want to leave data on not 4g and not EV (just for the problem i said before) and 1x is the last choice i have..

do you have that problem when using EV??

i dont believe you can shut EV off because both EV and 1x work on the CDMA network. there may be an app on the market that can do it or hidden option that could be found with anycut but i wouldnt know.

the flickering issue with EV only happens to me when im in a bad location and the signal drops from 4G to EV. it should work fine if you're in a good signal area, which are few and far between with EV.

i've never tried the CDMA only option because EV is crap in detroit and if i want to save on battery i use wifi.

i think EV always flickers but i need to re check...
And here EV is very bad too... but its only to have it online with messengers and mms if i would need to use something that need better connection i switch to 4g
 
There is only one way to do this. Download an old prl that loads on esteem and indulge and put it in the connect using qpst. 3018 i believe

if you just need to do things like get emails. MMS, or update your weather widget you should able to do that fine on EV.

have you tried it?

in my area ev is worse and slower than 1x most apps dont even recognize theres an internet connection when its on evdo
 
i just set my phone to "CDMA only" and not only was i able to text and update my weather and email i was even able to stream a youtube video with no buffer. granted it was only a minute and a half long.

im gonna try a longer video. BTW while doing this the bars do flicker.

i also made a phone call and the quality wasnt any different from when im not CDMA only.

EV can work well for you but if u try to do skype call im sure its gonna be slow.
anyway if u use it for messenger apps its great.

About the sound quality, as i said before, i cant tell for sure that ev is causing this problems... but when it happend to me i was on ev.

let me know how long the battery last for you on ev...
 
Their 1x sucks donkey dick and it's slow as hell!!!!! I prefer 4g over this crap. Thats all i gotta say bout that.....
