Help 4G Issues

So when I turn on 4G, all my apps work but the internet doesn't.. when just on 3G, everything works, including the internet.

I'm using the stock internet browser app.. thoughts?

Hello lolfranks.

Have you checked to be sure you're in a 4G coverage area? Or, if you are, is there a 4G outage there? You can check for the outage quickest by contacting a friend close by with a 4G device. That's usually quicker than trying to get through to a carrier rep.

I have a full 4G signal and it seems like it connects just fine.. I'll check with someone else in the area tho.. thanks!

Can you elaborate on your issue?
Do apps that use the internet work ok? Is it strictly your web browser that doesn't work?

Download a ping app and ping google. Also download ookla bandwidth speed test and see what you get.

It's weird. None of the apps or internet work at all when I'm connected to 4G. I have all the 4G bars, but nothing happens. As soon as I switch back to 3G, everything's fine and working again.

I called Virgin and they can't solve it. I'm in a major city that has good coverage, even for 4G

Do you want to troubleshoot this further or demand a replacement from Virgin? If they can't help you, this sounds like grounds for a replacement. If you want to troubleshoot this further, we should get one of the guides in here.
I am at my son's taekwondo right now getting 1x data speeds. I also have some pressure washing to do today. I'll see what I can do later in the day. For now,

What Rom are you running? Are you rooted? S-on or s-off?
What's your hboot version? Firmware version? Radio version? Have you taken any ota updates?

Hey, thanks for the quick response. Maybe I'll just get them to replace the phone. It's all stock -- I haven't rooted at all or anything like that. Running Android 4.0.3

If you S-OFF your phone, we can try various radio configurations to see if there's one that works better for you. If you don't want to do that, a replacement may be in order.

Have you taken the latest system update yet? Settings>Updates I believe? You're looking for HTC Software Update or something along those lines.

And I just ran the Speedtest with 4G on, and Ping = 112ms; Download = 8135 kbps; Upload = 1385 kbps.

Thoughts?

This contradicts something you said earlier, or perhaps I misunderstood.
So with 4g on, you can run speed test? That means your4g works fine. If you want another test, try using Pandora or any other app that accesses data. If everything is working, then it's likely a browser issue of some sort, and you probably don't need a new phone.

Google navigation is another app that uses data . Open it and scroll around while on 4g. The maps need to download as does traffic info. Turn on the traffic layer and scroll to the next city. It should have to download all that info. If that all works, then again, your 4g is fine.

Thanks for your help! I just ran through those apps and now everything's working. I was concerned because last night and earlier today, none of my email apps, widgets, or internet browsers were working when 4G was turned on. It looks like all is well now.

Thanks again for the quick responses.
