4G LTE vs. 4G Speed

Is 4G LTE That Much Faster Than 3G Or Even 4G? Also, is it worth buying a 4G LTe Phone?

Not sure if this will help but here goes:

I have 3G locally so I am use to what it does, speed varies by a factor of 2, except at 8:30 am when the kids are going to school the network gets totally bogged down.

I was visiting my daughter and they have 4G, it was noticably faster, but still it wasn't so fast that I didn't have to wait for a page to load. but certainly a 2-3 second load time was nice to have.
