4G network outage again?

Is anyone else having data connection issues today? Mine has lost all data and it wont connect back. This is in Lakeland Fl..

I had problems with my 3G yesterday and I dont' have 4G in my area so I was going to assume it was another outage.

I have had no data for quite some time today in Central Jersey. Must have pulled the battery 5 times in the last hour. No 3G or 4G. Droid does, not have any data. Again. Oh and I have tried Airplane mode too, just so no one asks.

I have problems almost daily. It has gotten so I just roll my eyes, and come back 10 minutes later, and it is usually working again.

Yea, tried cycling airplane mode and it simply made the phone lose all connectivity period. I restarted a couple times as well to no avail. I eventually just set it for CDMA only and it switched over to 3G only after a reboot and I have left it on that since. This whole 4G to 3G and losing data completely issue is starting to become really old, I sure hope the November OTA fixes it or I seriously may be trading up to a Galaxy Nexus.

I haven't had any problems today but when I do i've been using the app restart connections to get my data back. It seems to work better than the airplane trick.

Here's some bad news ... I never did a battery pull on my Bionic before tonight.

I am in an area that doesn't have 4G yet. I had 3G indicated on my Bionic. I ran the application you referenced to see what would happen. 3G never came back. I powered off and powered on ... 3G never came back. I did a battery pull ... 3G did come back.

I have never had to do a battery pull for this either, but the app mentioned seemed to work for me. I'll hold off on judging it fully until I try it a few more times but first try it did restore my dropped 3G connection.

My 4g connection has been fine for the most part but my 3g connection has been real spotty lately. Last week I was trying to switch to 3g and it just wasn't happening, but my 4g was working fine. On Saturday I kept trying to switch to 3g because I was using my gps and I didn't know if I would get 4g coverage to where I was going. After several times of trying to switch back and forth and putting it into airplane mode I was finally able to get 3g. Then I eventually found out I would've been fine with the 4g the whole time.

NEW RISING, the DATA is to switch automatically. There is not reason to force 3g unless the radio doesn't do it on its own. You can always go to Settings, Wireless & Networks, then mobile and set to CDMA if your trying to conserve data amount or battery. Otherwise consider it a blessing to have 4 g all the time.

You're not the only one. It didn't work for me either. Even when I had 3G service and just tested it, I ended up rebooting the phone to get 3G back.

It was partially for conserving battery since Im usually using my extended battery but on that day I was using the standard battery. If I knew I was able to have 4g the whole time I probably would've just kept it on. I didn't want to have it automatically switch because it takes a long time sometimes and I didn't wanna lose my gps signal. My point is though I should easily be able to switch from 4g to 3g and not have these problems.

New Rising, The bionic has some serious issues with flipping back and forth. My wife and I have the same phones, originally bought on the same day. However, she can be next to me and have 4g and I will only have 3g, or vice a versa. Sometimes I show no data for long time and she will be switching back and forth with minimal delay. It is interesting to be in a group of people and all of us checking our data coverage and everyone coming up with differences. VZWs network is unstable and unpredictable at any time. I may get extended battery myself.

You should invest in the extended battery, it can make a world of a difference compared to the standard battery. As you long as you don't mind the added girth. ;)

Doesn't seem to just be a switching problem. I am in a 3G area and have lost data 3 times trying to type this.

I don't think its a switching issue either.
I can be sitting at home, full 3G signal, set my phone on the end table, pick it up 10 min later and have no 3G at all.

I wasn't exactly saying it's just a switching issue, 90% of the time I'm on 4g. Lately though when I try and switch to 3g It either takes forever to get a signal or I get nothing at all and just have to stay on 4g.
